- Levantándome muy temprano, pude ver el amanecer desde mi habitación. — Levantándome: gerundio + me (accent mandatory on á). pude: yo preterite of poder (no accent needed). amanecer: sunrise — ends in -er with stress on last syllable (aguda), no written accent. habitación: accent on -ó (aguda ending in -n, written accent required).
- Llegué tarde a clase porque perdí el autobús y tuve que ir a pie. — Llegué: -gar yo preterite (g → gu). perdí: yo preterite of perder (accent on í mandatory). autobús: accent on final ú (aguda ending in -s). a pie = on foot (not en pie which means standing up — common error).
- Quiero que hables con tus profesores para que encuentres una solución al problema. — hables: present subjunctive tú of hablar (quiero que + subjunctive). encuentres: present subjunctive tú of encontrar (stem change e → ue preserved in subjunctive). solución: accent on -ó (aguda ending in -n).

levantando has stress on the 3rd-to-last syllable: le-van-TAN-do.
Adding the reflexive clitic -me creates an extra syllable:
• le-van-tan-do (4 syllables) → le-van-tán-do-me (5 syllables)
Spanish accentuation rules require a written accent whenever adding a clitic causes the stressed syllable to fall beyond the 3rd-to-last position, to show that the original stress is preserved.
Result: levantándome — the accent locks the stress on the correct syllable.
Negative imperative: how do you write 'Don't speak!' in Spanish?
¡No hables!
The negative imperative (tú) uses the present subjunctive form.
• hables = present subjunctive of hablar (tú form: habl- + -es)
• NOT 'No hablas' — that is the indicative, not a command.
