The answer to an implied-meaning question is NEVER said directly. The speaker gives you clues — your job is to read between the lines.
- Listen for negative words: no, nunca, nadie, nada, tampoco — they build a picture of absence or difficulty
- Listen for contrast connectives: sin embargo, aunque, a pesar de — an attitude reversal is coming
- Listen for hesitation phrases: bueno, pues, la verdad es que — the speaker is revising an earlier statement
- Match the correct EMOTION from the options: frustrated / worried / hopeful / resigned — not just facts
- Eliminate options that ARE directly stated — implied meaning = not stated explicitly
