This false-friend error appears in many GCSE scripts and immediately signals a misunderstanding of register. Examiners penalise it because it changes the meaning of the sentence entirely.
❌ Error 2: Yo salgo con mis amigos, pero él salro en el fin de semana.
✅ Correcto: Yo salgo con mis amigos, pero él sale los fines de semana.
Por qué importa: Salir is a yo-go verb — yo salgo — but the irregularity only affects the yo form. The él/ella form is perfectly regular: sale. Forms like salro or saligo do not exist.
