🔍 Tres escenarios clave — Three Roleplay Scenarios
AQA Foundation roleplay tasks rotate around four real-world settings. These three cover the most frequently tested scenarios. Practise deploying survival phrases fluently in each context.
🍽️ Escenario 1 — En el restaurante
- Quisiera una mesa para dos. — I would like a table for two.
- Para mí, el menú del día. — For me, the set menu.
- La cuenta, por favor. — The bill, please.
- ¿Está incluido el servicio? — Is service included?
Key move: open with Quisiera una mesa para... — it signals formal register immediately and earns credit before the scenario develops.
🏨 Escenario 2 — En el hotel
- ¿Tiene habitaciones libres? — Do you have rooms available?
- Me gustaría reservar una habitación para dos noches. — I would like to book a room for two nights.
- ¿Está incluido el desayuno? — Is breakfast included?
- Tengo una reserva a nombre de... — I have a reservation in the name of...
Key move: ¿Tiene habitaciones libres? shows the examiner you can ask questions as well as answer them — both are assessed in Paper 2.
🚉 Escenario 3 — En la estación
- Un billete de ida y vuelta a Barcelona, por favor. — A return ticket to Barcelona, please.
- ¿A qué hora sale el próximo tren? — At what time does the next train leave?
- ¿Cuánto cuesta? — How much does it cost?
Key move: de ida y vuelta (return) vs de ida (single) — the examiner will often prompt you to specify ticket type. Know both phrases.
