🔍 Tres escenarios clave — Three Roleplay Scenarios

AQA Foundation roleplay tasks rotate around four real-world settings. These three cover the most frequently tested scenarios. Practise deploying survival phrases fluently in each context.

🍽️ Escenario 1 — En el restaurante

  • Quisiera una mesa para dos. — I would like a table for two.
  • Para mí, el menú del día. — For me, the set menu.
  • La cuenta, por favor. — The bill, please.
  • ¿Está incluido el servicio? — Is service included?

Key move: open with Quisiera una mesa para... — it signals formal register immediately and earns credit before the scenario develops.

🏨 Escenario 2 — En el hotel

  • ¿Tiene habitaciones libres? — Do you have rooms available?
  • Me gustaría reservar una habitación para dos noches. — I would like to book a room for two nights.
  • ¿Está incluido el desayuno? — Is breakfast included?
  • Tengo una reserva a nombre de... — I have a reservation in the name of...

Key move: ¿Tiene habitaciones libres? shows the examiner you can ask questions as well as answer them — both are assessed in Paper 2.

🚉 Escenario 3 — En la estación

  • Un billete de ida y vuelta a Barcelona, por favor. — A return ticket to Barcelona, please.
  • ¿A qué hora sale el próximo tren? — At what time does the next train leave?
  • ¿Cuánto cuesta? — How much does it cost?

Key move: de ida y vuelta (return) vs de ida (single) — the examiner will often prompt you to specify ticket type. Know both phrases.
