🎯 Técnica — Roleplay Technique
- Write the key phrase for each of your 3 cues on the prep sheet — do not leave anything to improvisation that you could have memorised beforehand.
- Pre-plan your ! question — match it to the hint given on the card (price → ¿Cuánto cuesta? / time → ¿A qué hora? / location → ¿Dónde está?). Write it out in full.
- For the ? question: listen for the key question word — ¿cuándo? / ¿dónde? / ¿cuánto? / ¿qué? — then respond directly to that word, even if the rest of the sentence is unclear.
- Polite register earns marks at Higher: ¿Podría… + infinitive? instead of ¿Puede…? signals formal register and pushes your response into the top band.
- If you freeze: Bueno, pues… (1–2 seconds of processing time, sounds natural in Spanish) — then say anything relevant. Keep talking.
