❌ Common error: Choosing what the FIRST voice says as "what Speaker A thinks"
✅ Correct: AQA labels speakers A and B — always match the label in the question, not the order of speaking. Speaker B may actually speak first in a reply situation.
Why it costs marks: In a dialogue format, the question states a specific speaker label (A or B). If you track by speaking order rather than label, you assign opinions to the wrong person.
❌ Common error: Double negatives confuse students: treating No creo que nadie lo haga as a positive
✅ Correct: No + nadie BOTH reinforce the negative: "I don't think anyone will do it." Spanish double negatives strengthen the negative — they do not cancel each other out.
Why it costs marks: English grammar rules (two negatives = positive) do NOT apply in Spanish. No tengo nada = I have nothing (not "I have something"). Every negative word adds emphasis.
❌ Common error: Missing a change of mind: hearing Bueno, pensándolo bien... and noting the speaker's original view
✅ Correct: Pensándolo bien signals the speaker is REVISING their earlier statement. The NEW opinion always comes AFTER this phrase.
Why it costs marks: AQA questions about "what does Speaker X think?" require the FINAL position, not the first one. Revision phrases (pensándolo bien, la verdad es que, bueno...) mark the pivot point.
