Por qué importa: The comparison pattern for preferir is always preferir X a Y. The linking word is the preposition a (to/over), NOT the conjunction que (that/than). This confuses English speakers because English uses "than" — but Spanish uses "a". Compare: El rock es mejor que la música clásica (a comparative with más...que does use que), but prefiero X a Y never does. Mixing these up is one of the most penalised AO3 errors in AQA writing scripts.

Por qué importa: In the construction me parece/parecen + adjetivo, the adjective must agree in gender and number with the grammatical subject — the noun that follows. Los documentales is masculine plural, so the adjective must be aburridos (masculine plural), not aburrido (masculine singular). Students often forget this agreement when the adjective appears before the subject noun. Always ask: what noun does the adjective describe? Then make it agree.
