- In a writing task on this topic, use the two-sided structure: advantages first, then disadvantages (or vice versa) â this is the recognised AQA model for discursive writing.
- Vary your opinion phrases: don't use je pense que four times â use Ă mon avis, il me semble que, selon moi for the next level up.
- In reading, when the text discusses a French celebrity, focus on extracting specific details: what they do, how they became famous, what problems they face.
- Remember: une célébrité (noun, always feminine regardless of whether the celebrity is male or female) vs célÚbre (adjective, agrees with subject).

â Correct: Cette chanteuse est trĂšs connue dans le monde entier.
Why it costs marks: Connu is a past participle used as an adjective here â it must agree with the noun it describes. Chanteuse is feminine, so connu needs the feminine ending: connue. Adjective agreement errors are one of the most penalised AO3 errors in AQA French marking.
