An unreliable narrator tells you about their neighbour. By paragraph two you trust them. By paragraph five you’re not sure. By the end, you realise you were wrong from the start. That shift — that journey the reader takes — is not accidental. The writer built it. And tracking that journey is what separates a static Q4 answer from a dynamic one.
Most answers treat the reader’s response as a single fixed thing: “the reader feels frightened throughout.” The top-band move is tracking how the response shifts.
