⭐ The Unexpected Task (the ! bullet)
One of the five role-play bullets is always marked with ! — this is the unexpected task. You will NOT see it on your card before the exam. The examiner introduces it during the role-play. Here is your survival toolkit for the ! bullet:
- Je voudrais… — buy time by starting a request
- Je cherche… — repurpose to ask about whatever the examiner mentions
- C'est possible de…? — is it possible to…? (safe filler when lost)
- Pouvez-vous répéter, s'il vous plaît? — could you repeat that please? (full marks if used appropriately — it shows communicative competence)
The examiner assesses communication, not perfection. Getting any relevant message across earns the mark.
