⭐ Stars und Influencer — Fame and Social Media

Celebrity culture and social media are modern AQA topics — singers, actors, influencers and the people we follow online. With this vocabulary you can talk about fame, name your favourite stars and give your own opinion. A good opinion about a celebrity is exactly what the speaking exam rewards.

💡 Exam Tips & Common Errors

  • folgen needs the dative: Ich folge meinem Lieblingsstar, not meinen.
  • Use berühmt and beliebt after sein with no ending: Sie ist berühmt.
  • For the speaking exam, give an opinion about a celebrity — say who you follow and whether they are a good Vorbild.

❌ Common error: Ich folge meinen Lieblingsstar.

✓ Correct: Ich folge meinem Lieblingsstar.

Why it costs marks: folgen takes the dative case, so masculine mein becomes meinem, not the accusative meinen. Using the accusative after folgen is a common case error that costs AO3 marks.
