🏃 Gesund leben — Health, Food and Fitness
Healthy living is a favourite AQA topic — food, exercise, routine and wellbeing. This vocabulary lets you talk about how you stay healthy (or don't!) across all four skills. A few key phrases here will serve you in speaking, writing, reading and listening alike.
Gesundheit & Essen — Health and Food
These are the core nouns for health, food and meals. Learn each noun with its article (der/die/das) and plural — and note which ones have no plural.

💡 Exam Tips & Common Errors
- Use Sport treiben, not Sport machen — it reads as more accurate German.
- Add a frequency phrase (dreimal pro Woche) to score detail and develop your answer.
- Contrast healthy vs unhealthy habits in writing: Ich esse gesund, aber ich schlafe zu wenig.
❌ Common error: Ich mache Sport jeden Tag.
✓ Correct: Ich treibe jeden Tag Sport.
Why it costs marks: the idiomatic German for "do sport" is Sport treiben, not Sport machen. While Sport machen is sometimes heard colloquially, Sport treiben is what the AQA mark scheme expects and reads as more accurate German.
