💡 Exam Tips & Common Errors
- Use festival names without an article — Weihnachten, not das Weihnachten.
- Remember einladen splits: in a normal sentence you say ich lade … ein, with the prefix at the end.
- Describe a festival in the present tense with time markers like jedes Jahr, im Dezember or am Wochenende.
- Add who you celebrate with (mit der Familie, mit Freunden) for extra detail and marks.
❌ Common error: Ich lade ein meine Freunde.
✓ Correct: Ich lade meine Freunde ein.
Why it costs marks: einladen is a separable verb — the prefix ein goes to the END of the clause. Writing Ich lade ein meine Freunde keeps the prefix stuck in the middle, which is a word-order error that costs AO3 marks. Always send the prefix to the end: ich lade … ein.
