Find 35% of £240
Method 1: Decimal
35% = 0.35
0.35 × 240 = 84
Answer: £84
Method 2: Building blocks
10% of 240 = 24
30% = 3 × 24 = 72
5% = 24 ÷ 2 = 12
35% = 72 + 12 = £84
