Worked Example 2: Different Units
Simplify the ratio £1.50 : 75p
Step 1 Convert to same units
£1.50 = 150p
So ratio is 150p : 75p = 150:75
Step 2 Simplify (divide by HCF = 75)
150 ÷ 75 = 2
75 ÷ 75 = 1
Final Write answer
£1.50 : 75p = 2:1
