Higher Level: BIDMAS with Negatives
When negatives appear in more complex calculations, follow BIDMAS but be extra careful with signs:
Example: Calculate −3 × 4 + (−2)
- Multiplication first: −3 × 4 = −12
- Then addition: −12 + (−2) = −12 − 2 = −14
